Olives, as well as olive trees represent in Greece the affluence the Maker parts with. This "sacred" tree lives virtually forever doesn't need much water or rich soil  and is able to bear long, hard winters and even deadly fires. It is not for no reason that the olive branch is since before the old testament considered bearer of hope. Hope is often all it takes to overcome seemingly impossible tasks, hope and the will to keep on fighting like there isn't an end. Although we believe to be witnessing lots of endings in our lives the only real and final ending comes the moment we decide to give up, that is the moment where all the divine potential, all the divine fire from within dies away like the flame of a candle dies by the cold breath of the wind.
